Online JCOM Readings

Reading One:
The readings about netiquette and email etiquette were quite instructive. The prevailing principle, for me, is that you never know how sarcasm or jokes will be interpreted in email/chat form. It's always best to stick to the point.
Reading Two:
Very helpful information about resume do's and dont's. I especially liked this line about interests: "personal interests that are weird make you look weird and you don't know if your interviewer likes weird or not, so leave weird off the resume."
Reading Three:
The Net Neutrality situation is a scary one.
I'm glad we read about building a personal brand. We discussed this topic heavily at the PRSSA Regional Conference a couple weeks ago, and I am amazed we don't hear more about it with how important it is.
